Parisa, in collaboration with Dr. Mahdi Vaezi at Northern Illinois University (NIU), received a USDA Grant to explore the phenomena behind plug flow formation and drag reduction effect in the flow of fibrous biomass particle slurries in pipes and pumps using flow visualization techniques such as Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV).
